The founders of TherapieDecken have decided that these weighted blankets should get a second chance and at the same time do a good deed – returned blankets are given to children's homes and nursing homes.

Activities in harmony with nature
For a sensory blanket to fulfill its therapeutic functions, it must be adapted to the individual person. The best effect is achieved when the weight is 10-15% of the body weight. But what happens when the blanket is sent back? The blankets should no longer circulate among other customers. Therefore, the manufacturers thought that they could combine charitable work with environmental awareness – they came up with the great idea that every weighted blanket returned is given to children's homes, women's shelters, and nursing homes.

Our company focuses on all activities that can not only help people but also protect our planet on which we live. We use natural resources, we work in communities, we nurture interaction with other people, so we want to give back when we have such an opportunity – explains the founder of TherapieDecken.

Strengthening social awareness
Using returned blankets within charitable projects is not the company's only social project. From the beginning, the company has focused on tolerance and employs people with disabilities, disorders, and – due to their work – sensory impairments. This makes it clear that not only certain groups, to whom the blankets are addressed, can benefit from weighted blankets. It is also about people affected by various illnesses or accidents who need to work in an appropriate environment. This aspect is also important to strengthen social awareness.

The founders did not stop at prosocial activities. They are convinced that not only actions for people but also for the planet are important and meaningful. – To avoid environmentally harmful effects of production, we have decided to use solar-powered machines. Solar batteries produce clean energy without harmful emissions – unlike gas, oil, or coal, which have high CO2 emissions and significantly contribute to global warming – explains the founder. In addition, production is limited to Europe, which is controlled by high standards and certification requirements.

– We hope that with these good examples on various levels, we can inspire other entrepreneurs to make similar decisions.
