The cover and inner lining of the Therapy Blanket are connected either via loops or a zipper. The even distribution of the glass beads in the chambers makes the blanket particularly snug.

The science behind therapy blankets
The deep pressure exerted by the weight has a relaxing effect on the joints, muscles, and tendons. This effect is also known as "Deep Pressure Touch Stimulation," where a gentle yet firm and even pressure acts on the body. This leads to physical as well as internal calm. Body awareness improves.
In addition, the pressure causes the release of the hormone serotonin, while at the same time the cortisol level (the so-called stress hormone) decreases. The deep pressure signals a feeling of safety and security to the body.

What weight should my therapy blanket have?
The therapy blanket for children and adults should be approximately 10% of your body weight. This is a guideline, so it is quite possible that you will feel better with more/less weight. If you are between two weight classes, based on our experience, we recommend choosing the heavier option.

How do the weighted blanket models differ?
Basically, all weighted blankets serve the same purpose, namely to apply pressure to the body. All our premium blankets have a firmly fixed filling with stainless steel beads. Standard blankets and medical weighted blankets are filled with glass beads that can move within the squares.
How is a weighted blanket used?
Please note that weighted blankets can show their effects at different speeds for each person. Start by using the blanket during the day to slowly get your body used to the weight and observe how you handle it. Gradually increase the usage time until you eventually sleep with the blanket all night.
Initial positive effects can occur after just a few days. However, it may also take several weeks for the body to adjust. Give yourself a little time; after all, you have 100 days to test it!

How do I wash the therapy blanket?
Our standard therapy blanket (formerly Gravity) consists of two parts: a cover and the weighted blanket insert. The blanket (insert) can be washed at 30°.
Our premium therapy blanket (formerly Balance) also consists of two parts. The insert is not washable.
The covers can be washed at 30°.
The medical weighted blankets consist of a single blanket that can be gently washed in the washing machine at 30°C.
