“Thanks to the therapy blanket, I finally found something that significantly improved my sleep, allowing me to start the next training sessions more energized and recovered the next day.”
How did you come across the concept of therapy Blankets?
As a competitive athlete, recovery in the training process is almost as important as the training itself. One always tries to improve by a few percent. This is achieved partly through the training process, but also through nutrition, lifestyle, and recovery. Unfortunately, I am not blessed with the best sleep and therefore wanted to improve in the area of sleeping and the associated recovery during the night. I thought about how I could improve my sleep, and a friend, also a professional athlete, told me that he was able to achieve an enormous improvement in his sleep quality with a weighted blanket and thus feels more energized the next day. So I delved deeper into the topic of weighted/therapy Blankets. The concept sounded very promising to me, and I promptly ordered a therapy blanket.
How do you personally experience using a weighted blanket?
The initial phase was a bit of an adjustment because the therapy blanket is many times heavier than a normal duvet. But since my body got used to the heavy weight, I sleep very well and above all, I feel that I sleep more deeply and can definitely start training more refreshed the next day!
In your opinion, is the use of therapy blankets in sports sensible? Where do you already successfully use therapy blankets? And where do you still see potential?
I think therapy blankets currently receive too little attention in the world of sports. Yet sleep, no matter what kind of competitive sport, is enormously important. Athletes travel a lot for training camps and competitions all over the world, which can cause a lot of stress and constant performance pressure. We often sleep in unfamiliar beds in hotels, performance centers, and bases where sleep quality suffers due to the unfamiliar environment and often uncomfortable beds. It is all the more important then to value good sleep quality at home after hard weeks abroad to optimally regenerate, and therapy blankets are an absolute game changer here.
In this area, it might be possible to develop a lighter therapy blanket model that allows traveling people like athletes to take a blanket to competitions and training camps, so they can also benefit from better sleep abroad.
Your personal conclusion
I have long searched for solutions for better sleep but haven't really found anything so far. Through the therapy blanket, I have finally found something that significantly improves my sleep and allows me to start the next training sessions the next day more energized and refreshed. I can really recommend the blanket to anyone who wants to do something good for their body and health! Because you can still return the blanket after a long test phase, everyone can calmly test the blankets at home and find the ideal model and weight for themselves!
