Jonas Zimmerschied's experience with therapy blankets

“ From my personal and professional perspective, the weighted blanket is a valuable tool for better sleep and thus more effective recovery.”
How did you come across the therapy blanket concept?
As a personal trainer, I advise my clients in various areas, including exercise, nutrition, and sleep. Good sleep is essential for recovery, but in a hectic daily routine, it is often a challenge to prepare optimally for it. Long sleep durations and an established sleep culture are not always feasible. For this reason, I recommend and use tools that can improve sleep quality with little effort. In doing so, I came across the weighted blanket. It offers a simple but effective method to improve sleep, which is especially beneficial for people with an active lifestyle.
How do you personally experience using a weighted blanket?
My first impression of the weighted blanket was very positive. The cover is pleasantly soft, and the weight felt calming. Initially, an adjustment phase was necessary, as the difference to a normal blanket is noticeable. However, after about a week, I had fully adapted and have since enjoyed restful sleep. The blanket conveys a feeling of security and comfort, which positively influenced my sleep. This experience encourages me to recommend the weighted blanket to my clients as well, especially those looking for ways to optimize their sleep and thus their recovery.
In your opinion, is the use of therapy blankets in sports sensible?
As a personal trainer and athlete, I know the importance of good recovery. That is why I find aids for sleep improvement, like the weighted blanket, very useful. It can help to fall asleep faster, sleep more deeply, and improve overall sleep quality. This is especially important when high physical performance is required. Of course, everyone should individually find out what helps them best.
