All our blankets serve the same purpose, but each model has some special features with which we want to meet the different needs of our customers.

Our Standard (formerly Gravity) and Premium (formerly Balance) models have a very practical function: For both models, there are matching covers made of warming or cooling fabric - depending on your preference and the season. The covers can be easily removed and changed. It is advisable to use the covers from our range, as weighted blankets have a cover system to prevent slipping.

The Standard Therapy Blanket is weighted by fine glass beads sewn into equally sized squares inside the blanket. Here, the pressure on the body is created by the beads gathering in a corner. The cover is attached to the insert with 12 loops, so that nothing slips and the insert sits firmly in the cover. Due to the movement of the beads within the squares, the Standard Therapy Blanket is particularly adaptable.

The Premium Therapy Blanket is weighted by small stainless steel beads that are glued and fixed at regular intervals inside the blanket. The adhesive is water-based, odorless and harmless. The cover is attached to the insert with four zippers. This makes putting on and taking off the cover particularly easy, which is especially advantageous for older people. The Balance blanket is somewhat more stable and firm, making this model suitable for people who toss and turn a lot at night.

Our Medical Therapy Blanket is filled with micro glass beads sewn into equally sized squares. The blanket does not have a removable cover and is therefore more suitable as an over-blanket for a normal duvet. In addition, it is breathable due to the cotton fabric and has a cooling effect. The Medical Blanket does not have a cover system with loops or zippers, as covering this blanket is not necessary.

Therapy blankets are generally safe and harmless. Toddlers under 5 years old or 20 kg should always use the therapy blanket under supervision. If children use the blanket alone, they should always be able to remove the blanket easily.

We advise against a therapy blanket if you suffer from respiratory problems, such as asthma or sleep apnea, or have heart and blood pressure problems. Diabetes patients should also consult their doctor before using the blanket. One should always be able to remove the blanket oneself.

Patients with advanced type 2 diabetes should not use a weighted blanket as their circulatory system is weaker. Under no circumstances should the weighted blanket be used by patients with so-called diabetic foot.

People with kidney problems (especially dialysis patients) should speak to their doctor about whether a weighted blanket can be used. In cases of osteoarthritis and slipped discs, a weighted blanket can worsen symptoms, so consultation with a doctor is also advisable here.

One should always be able to remove the blanket oneself.

Our Premium therapy blanket model (formerly Balance) has stainless steel beads glued inside. Contrary to some speculation, we see no danger in the use of stainless steel; there are also no scientific concerns or evidence that it could have a negative impact. Read more about it in our blog post.

To distribute the beads evenly, we use odorless, non-toxic, water-based adhesive. The adhesive does not come into contact with the skin, but there is no danger even with possible skin contact. The safety data sheet for the adhesive used can be viewed here from the manufacturer.

Since weighted blankets are precisely adjusted to your body weight, the blanket should only be used by you or by a person who weighs the same as you do.

You can test our blanket for 30 days after receipt. If you don't feel any effect or are not satisfied, you can return or exchange the blanket. Please refer to our return policy for this.

The blanket may be washed during the trial period. Please handle the weighted blanket with care. We reserve the right not to accept soiled or damaged blankets.

We pay attention to sustainability and fair working conditions in the production of our therapy blankets. The blankets are manufactured in EU countries. We use only the highest quality fabrics so that you receive a premium product that will accompany you for many years and provide you with good sleep and rest.

Normal blankets are usually filled with down or feathers. Therapy blankets are filled with micro glass beads or metal pellets to give them weight. The glass beads/metal beads are very fine and cannot be felt. Therapy blankets are hypoallergenic and can also be used by allergy sufferers. In contrast to down duvets, the fabric of the therapy blanket is air-permeable (breathable), which means the temperature under the blanket always remains pleasantly warm.

Our medical therapeutic blankets are made of 100% cotton and are therefore very breathable. The fabric is cooling and can simply be placed on top of your normal duvet or used alone in summer.

Our Premium (formerly Balance) and Standard (formerly Gravity) therapeutic blankets have a cotton cover that is 100% cotton on both sides - ideal for warmer days and for those who tend to sweat quickly.

Yes, we offer a 12-month warranty. If anything breaks within 12 months of receiving the blanket, please send us photos of the damage with a brief explanation to kundenservice@therapiedecken.de. We will offer you an individual solution.

You can return the therapy blankets within 30 days without giving any reasons. However, the cancellation must be announced via the Returns Center. Simply returning the goods (without an explicit declaration) within 30 days is not sufficient. The return shipping costs are to be borne by the customer.

Opened fragrance sprays cannot be returned or exchanged.

Personalized products are excluded from return and exchange.

Our Gravity blanket consists of two parts: the soft cover and the weighted blanket. The blanket (inner duvet) can be washed at 30°C.

Our Balance blanket also consists of two parts. The inner duvet is not washable.

The covers can be washed at 30°C.

The Medical Weighted Blankets consist of only a single blanket, which can be gently washed in the washing machine at 30°C.

As a general rule, first check whether the weight of the blanket will not be too heavy for the drum of your washing machine. For the Balance and Gravity blankets, it is usually sufficient to wash only the cover. Please do not use a dryer, as the fabric may be damaged by it.

Replacement covers

The therapy blanket does not need to be covered with bed linen. The Standard (formerly Gravity) and Premium (formerly Balance) therapy blankets already include a removable cover. Due to its weight, a separate cover without fastenings can cause the blanket to slip.

Yes, except for our Medical Therapy Blanket. This blanket is primarily used as a top blanket or in summer.

The Premium (formerly Balance) and Standard (formerly Gravity) Therapy Blanket always comes with an all-season or cotton cover. With the Standard or Premium Set, you can choose two covers from the given options. Alternatively, the Standard duvet insert can also be purchased individually.

So that the thin ticking is as full as possible and fits snugly in the cover, it is intentionally a little larger than the cover.

Each square of a weighted blanket (Medical and Standard Therapeutic Blanket models) is filled with the same amount of glass microbeads. The filling will always collect in the lower corners and not distribute throughout the entire square. This is not a design flaw. The filling exerts targeted pressure on the body, thus creating the weight.

It is very likely that a loop that fastens the insert to the cover has come undone. This can be resolved very quickly. Please open the cover and check if the insert is securely tied.

The cotton covers are lighter than the 4-season covers because the fabric is thinner and you need less pressure in summer. The 135 x 200 cm cover is 0.5 kg lighter and the 155 x 220 cm cover is max. 1 kg lighter than the 4-season cover.

We recommend weighted blankets for toddlers older than 1 year. If you have a baby, please talk to your pediatrician first to see if a weighted blanket is appropriate.

No. The blanket is usually 40 cm longer than the child's height. It takes between 2-3 years for the child to grow 40 cm and gain 10 kg.
