Washing instructions for your therapy blanket

A therapy blanket is not a conventional comforter, and there are some special considerations for cleaning it.

One of the most frequently asked questions is: Can I wash my weighted blanket? And if so, how?

Washing Instructions for the Loop (formerly Gravity) Therapy Blanket

  • 30° in the washing machine at up to 800 rpm
  • Sensitive detergent
  • Not suitable for tumble drying

Note: Before washing, check the capacity of your washing machine, i.e., how much weight the drum can hold.

Washing instructions for the zipper (before Balance) weighted blanket

  • Do not wash

The zippered insert is not machine washable due to its construction. Please air the duvet regularly and remove stains by hand. Professional cleaning or hand washing is also not recommended, as the properties of the duvet may change.

How to wash the therapy blanket covers?

All our therapy blanket covers can be washed at 30°C. The 4-season covers made from a cotton-polyester blend should be washed gently to keep them cuddly and soft. The 100% cotton covers can be washed and ironed as usual.

Washing Instructions for Other Products

  • Our health pillows cannot be washed due to the wood chips. The pillowcases can be removed and washed at 30°.
  • The weighted sleep mask can be gently machine-washed at 30° or hand-washed.

How often should therapy blankets be washed or cleaned?

Generally, it is not necessary to wash weighted blankets more frequently than regular duvets. If you sweat heavily or have allergies, you can wash the weighted blanket (in these cases, the looped model is recommended) regularly every 1-2 months. Otherwise, it is sufficient to wash your Gravity Blanket every 4-6 months.

If you use your weighted blanket for sleeping, you should gently shake it and air it thoroughly every day after getting up, if possible. This ensures that any moisture that accumulated during sleep can escape.

If you use our weighted blankets not for sleeping, but only during the day or temporarily, less frequent cleaning is sufficient.

You can wash the weighted blanket covers regularly as needed. We recommend changing the covers every 1-2 weeks, depending on the season and temperatures.
